INTEGRATING ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE TOOLS IN DEVELOPING ACADEMIC WRITING SKILLS FOR EFL LEARNERS
Abstract
This article explores the role of artificial intelligence tools in developing academic writing skills among English as a Foreign Language (EFL) learners. It examines how AI-supported technologies can assist learners in improving their writing accuracy, vocabulary, organization, coherence, revision, and overall academic communication. Particular attention is given to the potential of artificial intelligence to provide personalized feedback, support independent learning, and encourage learners to reflect on their writing. The article also discusses the importance of critical evaluation of AI-generated content, responsible technology use, academic integrity, and effective teacher guidance. The study emphasizes that artificial intelligence should be used as a supplementary educational tool rather than a replacement for teachers or learners’ independent thinking. When integrated into a structured and pedagogically appropriate learning process, AI tools can create additional opportunities for practice, feedback, revision, and the gradual development of academic writing competence.
