Abstract

This thesis explores the features of the Bildungsroman genre in Uzbek literatusisre, specifically focusing on Khudoyberdi Tukhtaboyev's novel "Sorrowful Eyes" ("Mungli ko'zlar"). It analyzes the complex relationships between adults and children, highlighting the shift from traditional pedagogical models to a psychological-compensatory model of education. Through the contrasting images of parents obsessed with wealth, positive figures like teacher Ataullo, and the brother Akbar, the paper examines how the social environment and life trials serve as the main educators.
